We are getting ready to trade real estate for the stage for one very fun night to support an organization that makes a real difference here in Garrett County.
On October 3 at 6 PM, we will take part in the Cindy’s Fund Lip Sync Battle at the Oakland Elks Lodge. Representing our team will be Terah Crawford, Eric Crawford, Rachel Hanlin, Laura Newhall, and Michelle Clark.
They have been rehearsing a performance featuring a couple of songs that just about everyone will recognize. We are keeping the details under wraps until the big night, but we can promise they are having a lot of fun getting ready!
Supporting Garrett County Neighbors
Behind all of the fun is an important cause. Cindy’s Fund was created in memory of Cindy Hanks Kutchman, who lost her life to ovarian cancer at a young age. Cindy was an advocate for early cancer screening in Garrett County and helped establish an early cancer program through the Garrett County Health Department.
Since its inception in 2003, Cindy’s Fund has helped hundreds of Garrett County residents facing cancer. The organization provides assistance with cancer-related expenses that can quickly become a burden for patients and their families, including medical expenses, gas and food cards, hotel stays, medical equipment and supplies. Its simple mission says it best: “People Helping Garrett County People With Cancer.”
That local impact is why we are especially excited to be part of this year’s Lip Sync Battle.
